Swish in Aid of Riot Victims
18 Aug 2011 17:45
Venue: Juno 134 Shoreditch High Street, London
As the police, ambulance and helicopters fly overhead many of us are are ever more grateful for the roofs over my heads, clothes filling our wardrobes and perhaps the canned food to keep us going while the supermarkets are closed. We are the lucky ones. Many of our fellow Londoners, through no fault of their own, are in an extremely unfortunate and dire position, having lost their homes and possessions.
Let's put the unity back in community and help.
Swapaholics London is holding a Swish in aid of London riot victims. For those of you new to Swishing it is a fun and friendly way to revamp or update your wardrobe without the credit card hangover. Bring as many lightly worn, new fashionable clothes as you like. Quality items only please; if you would be happy to give to a friend or loved one then bring along. Nothing broken, torn, over-worn or unclean. Shoes and accessories also welcome. Yo will then receive tokens at check-in for each, which you can swap for items you will love even more. Come out; bring a friend and make a few more.
The minimum donation is £5 , more if you can. We are asking that you bring one or more additional items to donate, as well as your Swish items. All these and any left over Swish items will be donated to the Tottenham riot appeal. Men we need you too so ladies bring your Mr, your brother or your co-worker please!
Clothes hand-in will be straight after work from 5.45pm - until 7pm, Swishing thereafter, we aim to finish by 8.30pm
Even if you can't make the event please spread the word, via email fb and twitter. Maybe you don't have the time or the clothes, come and donate whether it be clothing, money or your time, we need volunteers to help sort clothes on the day. It''s for a great cause so we sincerely hope to see you there.
